Eponymous to the comic's title, the process of "The Monarch" is an acknowledgement of past, an unraveling of present, and a magnification of future. Enduring the Monarch is Lily. Conducting the Monarch is Lily. Throughout, she is made to attempt recall, in an effort to understand and, therefore, heal, from an event relatively unknown to her, occurring -- forever -- 9 years prior.
